2024 Cottonwood AZ

While in Cottonwood Arizona for three weeks, we didn’t do as much as we had planned. We wanted to go hiking and off-roading, but due to bad weather and both of us coming down with a bad cold those activities will have to wait until another time. So not much here got checked off of our bucket list.

We did manage to get out to a few places. We browsed the unique shops at Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village in Sedona...

...then drove north to Flagstaff to check out the snowcapped mountains.

The Sedona Heritage Museum was a quick stop. It’s on the grounds of what used to be an apple orchard. The house, barn and other buildings are still preserved on this land.

After the museum we strolled through some of the shops in downtown Sedona if for nothing else but to get some exercise. The views from there are breath taking.

Another town we visited was the historic town of Prescott to checkout Whiskey Row where saloons were built in the late 1800’s. Some of the saloons still have the original bars from back in the day. It was just a day of eating and window shopping.

On our way back to Cottonwood, we took the mountain road to Jerome. While we didn’t stop that day to visit, we went back to check it out. It’s a really cool town on the side of a mountain. This town housed and entertained the miners that worked the nearby copper mine. It’s said that this town is haunted. We had the best burgers at the Haunted Hamburger restaurant (Jeff had a veggie burger). There are stories of ghosts in this building, but we didn’t see any. This is a very cool little town with a lot of history!
