2023 Townsend TN to Lynchburg VA

After Kentucky we were once again in Townsend Tennessee just outside Smokey Mountain National Park for Jeff's high school all alumni yearly reunion. This year Jeff’s sisters Joan, Lorraine and husband Tony, Carolyn and significant other Steve and Kathi and husband Kent joined in with the festivities (brother Chris and wife Marj weren’t able to this time). It was a much-needed sibling time for the 5 of them especially since they had just lost their mother a couple of months prior. Also, one of Jeff’s best friends Brad and his wife Janet attended, so there was a lot of reminiscing, jokes and hugs. Jeff and Brad have been friends for 54 years and counting.

On our way to Hershey Pennsylvania, we stopped at Lynchburg Virginia. While there we visited Appomattox Court House National Historical Park where the Civil War ended. The history in this area is extraordinary. As we left and travelled north to Hershey, there were signs for other historic areas to visit. I have added those to our bucket list for a future visit.
